Western Medical Acupuncture
Western Medical Acupuncture is a therapy involving the insertion of fine needles into the body. These stimulate the sensory nerves under the skin and in muscle, which release the body’s natural endorphins; which in turn helps alleviate pain and promote healing.
Acupuncture can be used to help manage a wide range of painful conditions including chronic joint and muscle pain, headaches and migraine.
It is derived from ancient Chinese medicine but uses current knowledge of anatomy, pathology and physiology, and the principles of evidence based medicine.
I am a qualified doctor with a strong interest in Lifestyle Medicine, as well as being trained in acupuncture by the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
