Gentle Years Yoga

Classes currently suspended due to coronavirus risk.  Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you as soon as it is safe to do so.

Gentle Years Yoga is Hatha Yoga for people who would like to take their time to stretch gently and easefully and to move in and out of postures in a reflective and mindful way. It is therefore suitable for those of older years and is adaptable to being chair-based where appropriate.

The focus of each class is to enable students to safely perform a range of floor-based – lying and seated postures – as well as standing and balancing postures – in a modifiable way according to each person’s physical capabilities and limitations to encourage increased range of movement and greater flexibility as well as relaxation. Increased body awareness, mental well-being and a self-compassionate approach will be developed and nurtured in the class.

Students will enjoy a varied and beneficial yoga experience that is therapeutic at all levels of their being in a progressive and absolutely safe way.

Each session is led by a British Wheel of Yoga teacher with 25 years’ teaching experience who is also qualified in Gentle Years Yoga© teaching as well as Mindfulness and Compassion practices.
